  • You are probably asking yourself right now, what is this blog even about?

  • Well, first of all, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Joao, a psychology and pre-med student who is passionate about volunteering and fundraising organizations. And that is precisely what you are going to find here. You will find positive behavioral psychology, related ideas and studies, as well as a list of all the volunteer and fundraising organizations I am involved with. So you can educate yourself and also be a part of this movement.

    • First, when you think about fundraisers, what pops up in your mind? Some will say "helping a cause" or "making a positive impact." What if I say you can do more than that? You can make a positive impact and restore someone's hope. It's called a celebration of life. I learned something from the wonderful staff of Haven Hospice—palliative care—where I volunteer, particularly about how to provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during difficult times.

  • With organizations like the Make-A-Wish Foundation, you can replace fear and anxiety with hope. I am also a volunteer fundraiser.

  • I currently have a fundraiser with Make-A-Wish and Give and Gain. My goal is not only getting funds for these kids but also helping them to find purpose in life.
